Road Trip 2014: Day 5

San Francisco was an adventure. We got up early and went to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose before heading into San Francisco to meet up with my online (and now one of my real life) bestie, Karli. We weren't allowed to take photos inside the Winchester house but it was pretty neat. I'll probably write more on it later. But back to San Francisco. It was a day of a lot of firsts. First meeting with Karli, first real ride on public transit, first latte with no flavored syrup (yeah, I know. lol) and first time in San Francisco. Lots of new and exciting things happened that day. So let's get started.

We parked in North Berkeley and hopped on the BART which was waaaaay confusing for us since we'd never really dealt with public transit or anything. On top of that we were trying to hurry and catch the next train into the city which was about 5 minutes away from the time we got there so we didn't have to wait an extra 20 minutes. Luckily, a very nice girl helped us buy our tickets and pointed us to the right train. Once we got into the city and met up with Karli she helped us navigate and then we all had to figure out how to navigate the bus system. That was a good time. Haha!

One of our first stops was Four Barrel for some energy.

There were so many awesome houses!

Succulents! Succulents everywhere!

One thing that all 3 of us were so excited about was seeing the Painted Ladies. They were beautiful even though one was getting a face lift. That was a bit of a bummer but we made it work. Also, in case you were wondering, yes, we did listen to the Full House theme song on our way into town. It was awesome! We all had a little fan moment when we got there.

Since we were so close we decided to go see the house that the Tanners "lived" in on Full House. It's been painted so it didn't look like it did when they'd show snippets of it on the show but it was still pretty cool to see. It's the blue house with red brick steps in the photo below. How awesome would it be to live in the Full House house! Haha! Yeah, nerd alert, I know!

After we got all that excitement out of the way we were all starving so we decided to go to this little pizzeria we passed a couple blocks away. Presidio Pizza Company looked pretty average from the outside but once we walked in the door we were like "woah, this place is adorable!" We each decided to order a slice and then share a Nutella pizza. We just could not resist it. We figured it would give us plenty of energy to walk up the rest of the hill so, ya know, it was justified. ;)

We literally walked from downtown San Francisco to the very top of the hill. It was a lot of work but oh man, was that view worth it!

It was getting close to sundown so we decided to catch a bus to the Golden Gate Bridge so we could all get back to our cars before sundown.

Fletcher was in awe of the cable they had on display.

The fog started coming in while we were at the bridge. It was pretty awesome. I love fog and the fact that that's pretty typical/iconic San Francisco I was pretty stoked about.

This was one of the funnest days we had on our trip. It was so awesome getting to finally meet Karli after talking online and via text for so long. Hopefully, we get to hang out again really soon.
