Christmas Treats
Cake balls
Caramels
Sugar cookies
Caramels all wrapped up
Chocolate covered toffee
These are just the treats that I made for Christmas. My Mom made, fudge, more sugar cookies, peanut butter cup cookies and peanut brittle. We had a lot of sweets. I need to go on a diet after that holiday. All of these came out great. If you'd like any of the recipes just let me know!

Christmas
My nephew Connor.
This is our puppy, Pete. She doesn't really like anyone except for Fletcher, my parents and me. So, when Connor came to visit she decided to run away, all she needed was a marker to finish her sign! Needless to say, she didn't make it very far. Haha!
See she loves us.
This is my Mom's puppy, Trucker. He stole Pete's toys we got her for Christmas.
My brother collects metal signs.
My cute niece, Ashley.
My brother took my camera and took a picture of my Dad taking pictures.
This Christmas was absolutely amazing. Fletcher finally got an Xbox 360, so I'm sure you can guess what he's doing right now. This is one of the best Christmases we've had in a few years. It was great to get to see all of my family and Fletcher's family.
Christmas treat photos coming up!

Etsy find!
I was just casually browsing Pinterest, like I do basically every single night, and I ran across the cutest Etsy shop! It's called Inedible Jewelry. They have some of the cutest necklaces, earrings, rings, and cufflinks that I have ever seen. These would be great Christmas gifts for any foodie!
Here are some of my faves
snowcone earrings
caramel apple earrings
pumpkin pie necklace
pecan pie earrings
gumball necklace
peppermint cupcake necklace

christmas presents
Friday my sister, Fletcher and I set out to get some Christmas shopping done. Little did we know that we would be out shopping for 12 hours straight! The upside is we all got 99% of our shopping done. I have 1 present left to get, Mendy has 1 or 2 left and Fletcher is done (of course, because I did most of it he was just along to drive us around.) It was a lot of fun! We went to 2 different malls, target, barnes & noble and a few other local places. Here's what we came back with...
It was quite a haul.
Then we ended up wrapping presents for 2 hours after we got home! So, we didn't get to bed until around 3 a.m. that night but it was all worth it. My tree looks happy with lots of pretty presents under it.

hot chocolate
I just made hot chocolate...and burned my tongue. Not a good combination. I guess I got a little too excited about it and I couldn't wait for it to cool off. Sad day...but I do know that this is the best hot chocolate that the hubs and I have tried so far! I got the recipe from Joy the Baker. Every recipe that I've tried of hers is amazing! She is the best!
Delicious Hot Chocolate
from Joy the Baker
from Joy the Baker
makes one large or two small portions
1 1/2 cups milk (any fat content you fancy)
3 heaping tablespoon bittersweet chocolate chips
2 heaping tablespoons white chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups milk (any fat content you fancy)
3 heaping tablespoon bittersweet chocolate chips
2 heaping tablespoons white chocolate chips
In a small saucepan, gently heat milk over low heat. Whisk often so the milk doesn’t burn.
While the milk is heating, bring a medium saucepan with two inches of water to a boil. Place a heat-proof bowl with chocolate pieces over the simmering water. Make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the simmering water. You’re creating a double boiler. Cool, right? Stir the chocolate pieces until melted.

Add the melted chocolate to the hot milk. Whisk together until completely blended and super delicious looking. Pour into mugs and top with marshmallows or slightly sweetened whipped cream.
Be careful and don't burn your tongue like I did. :)
Stay warm!!

Cake Mix Cookies
Does this look like mochi to anyone else?
I decided to finally make some cake mix cookies. I have eaten them many times and I have always loved them I've just never made any on my own. They are so easy to make and so yummy.
Cake Mix Cookies
1 box chocolate cake mix (any flavor will work)
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Mix all ingredients together and beat well until combined. Roll into balls and roll in powdered sugar before placing on lightly greased cookie sheet. You can also dip the tops in sprinkles if you are making vanilla cookies or roll them in powdered sugar also.
Bake at 350 degrees for 11-12 minutes.

Black Friday
Today I experienced my very first Black Friday. My Mom, Dad, Fletcher and I got up at 4 o' clock this morning and headed straight to our local Wal-Mart. The town that my parents live in has a population of about 3,000 people. So, needless to say, Black Friday isn't as much of a fight here. We got there about 4:30 and each got into different lines for different items. I grabbed a Canon Rebel, my Mom grabbed a laptop, Fletcher grabbed a tv and Fletcher's mom, who met us there, grabbed an Xbox 360 for Fletcher's Christmas present (shh...don't tell him). We got everything that we wanted! It was awesome! I'm very glad that I had a good first Black Friday experience. I heard a lot of horror stories of people who were in much larger towns and I don't think I could have fought the crowds. We also grabbed some little Christmas gifts and some dvds. The thing I'm excited about the most is my camera. I have been wanting a Canon for at least 3 years now.
Here are some of the first pictures I took with my new camera today...
