Silly love songs final day

Hey there! Happy Valentines day everyone! I hope everyone is having the best day ever! I know I am so far. I made Fletcher some handmade Valentines. They are I.O.U.s for things that I know he'll love like Monster, video games and movies. I can't wait for him to get home from work.

Okay, here we go! Today is the big day for our silly love songs list! I initially wanted to do a list of ten sk gs but I'm thinking I may have to do more than that. We will just have to see how it goes. I might get a little carried away and post 100 songs!! Okay, I won't do that but I do know it will be more than ten. Let's get started!

Silly love songs day 5

Yes, this was supposed to be posted yesterday but moving and things have gotten in the way. Never fear though! I'm back today with day 5 and then the final big list for this lovely Valentines day.

Day 5: teeny bopper songs

1. When You Look Me In The Eyes - The Jonas Brothers
2. U Smile - Justin Bieber
3. Love Bug - The Jonas Brothers
4. Just The Way You Are - Bruno Mars
5. I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You - Savage Garden

Fun facts about some of these:
- song 1 was played at our wedding during the slideshow.
- Fletcher always sings song 4 to me when we hear it.
- song number 5 is exactly how I feel about Fletcher. I knew I loved him from the moment I first saw him and I knew we would be together.

I hope everyone is having an amazing Valentines day so far! I just got done making Fletcher's Valentines. I know he will love them. I'll post pics later.

P.S. Sorry there are no video links. I'm having to post these from my phone so it's kind of hard to look up the videos right now.

Day 3: Movie Tunes

1. Elephant Love Medley - Moulin Rouge - video
2. You're the One That I Want - Grease -  video
3. Grow Old With You - The Wedding Singer - video
4. All I Want Is You - Juno - video
5. All I Ask of You - Phantom of the Opera - video

Fun facts about some of these songs:
- Song number 1 is a song that we very frequently sing out loud to each other no matter who is around.
- The Hubs quoted song number 3 during his proposal. (Which happened to be on stage with one of my favorite bands/friends)
- Song number 5 is just special because that is one of our favorite movies and that song brings tears to both of our eyes sometimes. (Don't tell him I said that.)

Sorry I missed posting this yesterday, this weekend has been crazy hectic so far. We are working harder than ever to get our house ready to move into as soon as possible. The snow slowed us down a bit but we are back to work!

silly love songs: day 2

Today I'll list some of our favorite country love songs.

1. She's Everything - Brad Paisley - video
2. Making Memories of Us - Keith Urban - video
3. Bless the Broken Road - Rascall Flats - video
4. Free - Zac Brown Band - video
5. Stuck Like Glue - Sugarland - video

Every one of these songs has a special significance and place in my heart. For instance, "Bless the Broken Road" was the first song that Fletcher and I ever danced to at our first prom. That was 6 years ago and that song can still bring tears to my eyes.

I hope you are all enjoying the songs so far.

silly love songs

So, in about 5 days it will be my favorite day of the year. Yep, Valentine's day is almost here! Normally, I would be in full Valentine mode, making decorations, baking cookies and watching lots of romance movies. Moving has put a damper on those things. All the movies are packed, my craft supplies are packed and I just haven't gotten around to making cookies. Maybe I can today since we are snowed in and can't really do much else. Speaking of snow we got 14 more inches today! That's on top of the 20 we already had from last week! Needless to say, I am tired of snow. I want spring and summer...NOW!

For now though, let's get back to Valentine's day. It warms my heart. It's always been one of my favorite holidays. I always celebrate it like one would celebrate Christmas. The entire month of January is Valentine's season for me. I put up decorations. I spend hours watching cute movies and listening to love songs. Even in years when I didn't have a Valentine I would still get so excited for it. Maybe it's because my parents always made a big deal about it. My Mom and Dad would both get me Valentine's day presents. They did that will almost every single holiday though. Even St. Patrick's day. My Mom would always get us something small just to say we got something. It was fun. Still to this day though I get so excited for Valentine's day. Now I have a permanent Valentine, my lovely husband. That makes it even more special. I love going out and picking out cute little presents for him and planning a cute date. We've decided the past few years to have 2 Valentine's days so we can both plan a special date for the other. Last year was so magical. The day before Valentine's day we went to a place in Tulsa called Caramel (it's closed now. sad.) and my love bought me the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. It's one of my favorite movies and we love to sing the songs to each other. It's pretty cute. :) Then the next day, on Valentine's day, we went to see Valentine's Day and it was so good. That day he bought me the soundtrack for that movie too. I'm a sucker for love songs. Later that night we went to The Melting Pot for a cozy, romantic date. It was so amazing. That night we decided that "Today Was A Fairytale" by Taylor Swift was our theme song for the day. I think it will end up being the same this year. The hubs and I have a million songs that seem to describe us perfectly but that one was just special that day. I literally cried on the way home listening to it that night because I just love him so much. Yeah, cheesy I know...sorry. :)

Anyway, here's what I've decided to do this year. Starting today, I will make a list of 5 of our favorite love songs. I'll post a list every day until Valentine's day and then I'll do a list of 10 on Valentine's day including some I have already posted and some new ones. I think it will be fun and I love sharing new song and new artists with people. So, I hope you enjoy and comment with some of your favorite love songs or any song!

Don't forget!!

I made a Formspring. Ask me some questions! :) It'll help me keep busy and keep from getting cabin fever during these crazy snow days!

snow days and updates

So, this week we have been completely snowed in. We were under a blizzard warning Monday and Tuesday. It started snowing Monday night and didn't stop until Tuesday night! Our town got 20 inches of snow!! That's a record here!! The first couple of days my friend Christia was snowed in with us and my brother, Butchie. It's been really fun. Our days have consisted mostly of eating and playing Mario Kart on the wii. Today, we finally got brave and decided to dig Fletcher's truck out of the snow and venture to Wal-Mart. Fletcher and Butchie walked to Wal-Mart yesterday and they were out of milk so we decided to try again today and see how the roads were. The snow really hasn't melted much since it stopped snowing. Hopefully it will be better by next week. Fletcher hasn't gotten to work since Monday (which he is okay with) and I didn't have school all week. We haven't gotten to work on our house all week either. Oh wait! I haven't told you about that! That will be a whole new post! But, just for a little teaser...we bought a house!! Anyway, here's some photos to show you what our week has been like.

Today I needed to make something. I haven't baked anything is weeks. So, I decided on cookie dough. It was supposed to be cookie dough truffles but I didn't have enough chocolate to dip them in. I didn't actually bake this but just being in the kitchen making some sweet was really nice.

So yummy!!

The boys went to town on theirs.

 Playing some Mario Kart.

Once we finally got to Wal-Mart they had gotten a shipment of stuff in today and had plenty of milk so we stocked up!
P.S. Oklahomans don't really know how to drive in the snow. Most people were doing okay but there were quite a few more than I expected that were just crazy! We got passed on our way home by a guy driving with one hand on the bad, not so cleaned off side of the road and talking on his cell phone! Craziness! It's okay though we made it there and back in one piece but needless to say we will not be getting back out for the next few days!

This is from yesterday when we went out to play in the snow. That's my brother standing in the snow that had piled up between two cars.

The hubs and the brother standing on the other side of a snow drift on the side of the apartment building. They were still standing on a pile of snow behind that and there were some other taller snow drifts!

This was Tuesday when it was still snowing.

That is Fletcher's white truck and my car next to it. Yeah...not going anywhere.

My friend Brittany standing in the back of Fletcher's truck full of snow.

The hubs and his snowy face!

My brother was trying to dig his car out of it's spot a little bit. We didn't get very far on it.

Okay, here are some random pics of things I've acquired the past week or so.
This is our amazing new Curtis-Mathes television set! We bought it at an estate sale last weekend for $30! We think it is from the early 1960s. It's so amazing! It has a tv (obviously), a stereo and a record player! The best part is they all work perfectly! It is in such good condition. It's like we just bought it brand new! I can't believe we stumbled across this and to think we almost didn't go to that estate sale! How awesome does that look with the minty green walls in the background?? I love it!

A couple of cute little things I picked up at Target.

I also got a couple of dresses, a couple of mugs, a vintage Samsonite bag, and a very pretty milk glass decanter at the estate sale. I'll post pictures of them later. It was my first ever estate sale. I think I got a very good first impression of them and I can't wait to go to more! The house itself was really neat and the kitchen was straight out of the 1950s. The person had all vintage 1950s appliances! It was awesome!

Stay warm!
