life lately

The past few weeks have been pretty good. Kinda of crazy weather wise though. We've had to run to friend's and family's houses to hide from tornados a couple of times but it's not so bad. It's scary but a nice little excuse to visit with loved ones.

Fletcher and I broke out the Xbox the other day and played some Left 4 Dead together. Shooting zombies can be romantic right? ;)

This past weekend we kicked things off by hanging out with our besties Sam & Rob. We had a nice little dinner, went to the mall and then hit up Barnes & Noble for some Starbucks.

Fletcher totally photobombed us.

We spent the night at their house and the next day we went and got our first snow cones of summer! They were delicious. I got Summer Lovin' (peach, cranberry and lemon).

Then we headed to my parent's house for the rest of the weekend and ate a lot of food. We also went to see Fast & Furious 6 which we were both super excited about and it did not disappoint! Now I just need a sweet muscle car!

Monday we had some delicious watermelon and then Fletcher and I went to Rogers, Ar. to do a little shopping and just hang out. We love going to Rogers. Then we just came home and are slowly getting back into our routine. Fletcher's still working tons of overtime so it's back to work for him and I've been doing some reorganizing/cleaning.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Prayers for Oklahoma

It's been a rough couple of days here in Oklahoma. First off, I'd like to give you a link
to a new article with ways you can help out those who have lost so much in Moore, Oklahoma. There are a few different ways you can donate money and if you are local you can donate clothing and other stuff or volunteer your time.

So far they have confirmed a lot of deaths and many of them were young school children who were at school when the tornado hit. Many people have yet to find their family members and the phones aren't working too good so it's hard to get in touch with them. Please keep all of these people in your prayers. It's going to be a tough road ahead for a lot of people.

We were very fortunate that the tornados broke up before they got close to our house but we made sure to be prepared anyway. Tornado season is the worst. Please keep Oklahoma in your prayers and help out if you can.

some friday favorites

I've been trying to go through my blog list and narrow it down to the ones I actually read. There are a lot of blogs I started following back when my friends were getting married and now I don't really need wedding ideas. While I've been narrowing down my blog list I've gotten back into reading more of the blogs I followed. Here's a little list of some of my favorites.

This girl is just adorable. I don't remember how I found her blog but I love it. Her vlogs are my favorite.

I met Christen & Kylie a few years ago. They are both so beautiful and I absolutely love their style! I love seeing their outfit posts, date nights and Kylie's super cute little boy, Seth.

I met Abi a few years ago too. She's is one of the sweetest people. Her photos are to die for. Definitely one of my favorite blogs to look at.

Amber is one of our friends from back when Fletcher and I would go to Joplin, MO to shows a lot. Her blog is super fun and I love her DIY posts.

You should definitely give these lovely ladies a visit.

Hope you have some lovely plans for this weekend! We are just going to relax at home.

If you have any favorite blogs leave me a little comment so I can check them out.

currently

I made this cute little quote photo the other night. I thought it was really cute and that quote is one of my favorites.

Reading: I just started a book last night called "Queen of Babble" by Meg Cabot. It's pretty good so far. I like her writing style. It might be kinda cheesy but hey...everyone needs to read some cheesy chick lit every once in a while right?

Wondering: Where we are going to stay next month when we go to KC for Mumford & Sons. We will probably end up staying in the same hotel we always stay in but it seems so far away from everything we are going to do while we are there. I'll keep searching. Maybe I'll find the perfect hotel.

Feeling thankful: For lots of things. At the moment, I'm super thankful for the overtime Fletcher is getting at work. It kind of sucks because he's working so many hours and Saturdays but it will all be worth it.

Eating: Monday I bought a baguette at Sprouts and we finished it last night. Baguettes are my favorite.

Watching: Season finales. This week a lot of our shows are going off for the season. Tonight is Vampire Diaries and Grey's Anatomy. Pretty excited about both but sad that all of our shows are going off.

Working on: Taking more photos with my Canon. I take so many photos with my iphone which is okay but I need to get out my Canon and use it! It's probably sad and lonely just sitting in it's bag all the time.

Loving: My husband. He does so much for us. He works his butt off every single day so we can have the things that we have and I appreciate him so much for that. He is absolutely amazing!

Loving Lately

Here are a few things I've been loving lately.

I just love these popsicle baggies. You can make homemade ice pops in these resealable bags!

These  are to die for! Fletcher definitely needs a pair.

These Pennsylvania State Park patches from Patch Co. are so lovely.

I love this throw from World Market. I think we will be making a stop there when we go to KC next month for Mumford & Sons. Let's hope they still have them!

These lights are from World Market too! They are on my list of goodies to search for!

How pretty is this record player from Urban Outfitters?! I would love to have it in my living room.

A Beautiful Mess

I am loving the new A Beautiful Mess app from Elsie and Emma!
You can download it in the app store now by searching "abeautifulmess" or "a beautiful mess". It's also #1 on the paid app chart!
I'm having so much fun playing with the borders and fonts. I've also found some new people to follow by going through the photos with the hashtags #abeautifulmess or #abeautifulmessapp. So many lovely photos and people to follow.

Did you download it yet?
Leave and comment with your Instagram username so I can check out how you've used the app.

Mother's Day weekend

Mother's Day weekend was wonderful. We got to spend some great quality time with our Momma's and we got to go see The Great Gatsby!

Saturday I spend the day with my parents. I took my Mom out for lunch because it was her birthday. We went to one of our favorite steak houses in Arkansas then we did a little grocery shopping so we could make her birthday cake. This year she requested this cake but with rum. So, we experimented and added a little rum to the batter and made a rum glaze to go under the icing. It was absolutely delicious! I do prefer the original recipe but it wasn't my day. My Mom absolutely loved it.

On Sunday we had lunch with Fletcher's Mom, his aunt and his Grandpa. Then we took his Mom to see The Great Gatsby. We have been dying to see it and it was amazing! I absolutely adored it. I would love to go see it again and I will most definitely be buying it when it comes out on Blu-Ray. I had to read The Great Gatsby in high school and I loved it. It's my favorite book. I loved the way they incorporated new music into the movie. Gah! I cannot say enough about the film! Loved it! Everyone needs to go see it!

I hope your Mother's Day was wonderful too!
