recent thrift finds

Here are some of my most recent finds.

I found this super cute Snoopy juice caraffe for 50 cents!!! Yeah! I was so excited!

I'm kind of obsessed with owls.

These two owls were $3 a piece and they are lights too!

I got a ton of S&H green stamps and some other stamps for $1! I found out today you can still redeem them for gift cards and stuff! I haven't decided if I will send mine in or not.

This baby was $2 and the outside is almost perfect. It has a few tiny marks on it and the inside is amazing! All I need to do is glue the lining back where it goes and it'll be almost like new!

Devil's Den State Park

Here are some Instagrams from this weekend. We went to Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas with my parents. We camped in their Winnebago and went to a lot of Flea Markets. It was a lot of fun and although I forgot my Canon I think I captured some of our memories really well with my phone. So glad that I have a phone that takes good pictures. I always forget my camera when it's most important!

Silly Love Songs

It's that time of year and Silly Love Songs is back!!!

For the first song of the year I chose this song from this week's episode of Glee. Yeah, I'm a Gleek... I"ll admit it. But I think my husband loves it almost as much as I do haha!

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Glee Cast (Rachel, Tina, Mercedes & Santana)

I really love this song. I can remember the first time I saw my love's face. I remember the exact day. It was Feb. 13th, 2004, almost 8 years ago. It was my first day of school in Oklahoma and it would be a few months before I actually met him and we started dating.

What I'm Reading: Water for Elephants

I give this book a 4 out of 5. I definitely loved it but I have to say there are some things that I think they did better in the movie. I know some of you are probably thinking I'm crazy. Most people (including my mother-in-law) usually like the book version better than the movie adaptation. In this case I will say I like the movie better, it's one of my favorite movies. Don't get me wrong the book was wonderful but I feel like it was almost a different story than the movie. I won't give away too many details since I'm sure not everyone has read it or seen the movie. I would definitely recommend the book and of course the movie. Even if you don't care for Robert Pattinson I say give it a shot because he was great in this movie. I love the Twilight series but he did do a much better job in Water for Elephants.

Have you read Water for Elephants or seen the movie? What did you think?

The most spectacular show on Earth!

Water for Elephants is possibly my favorite movie. I am obsessed with vintage circus stuff. So, this wall is one of my favorites in the house. I am obviously still working on finding more things to hang up. I found the three bottom prints on Flickr. I found a girl who had taken some pictures of the set of Water for Elephants and she agreed to sell me some! I was so excited because I could not find anyone selling prints from the movie. The top photo I found at a local antique store for a dollar. It is from a movie (I can't remember the name right now) but I think it fits perfectly in the circus theme.

2011 recap

As I was going back through the photos from this past year I realized it was a pretty dang good year! It was kind of hard to pick 1 or 2 pictures for each month but I think what I ended up with is perfect.

January: I played with my new Canon a lot this month. I taught myself a few things photography wise. We also were living in the last apartment we will (hopefully) live in.

February: We bought our first house!!!! We also had a crazy snow storm!

March: Spring arrived! We worked on our house a lot and were getting settled into our new home.

April: Went to a Tulsa Drillers game with my photography class. It was a lot of fun. It was also the first time I had ever been to a professional baseball game.

May: I got to take my little brother's senior prom pictures. This was really special to me. It was a lot of fun getting to practice my photography and get to hang out with my little brother and my little sister too!

May: We visited my big brother in Corpus Christi and I got to see the Ocean for the first time in my life (that I can remember). It was amazing! We had a wonderful drive down there. We stopped to visit my other brother on the way and had a lot of fun having a road trip with my parents. I can't wait to go again this year!

June: This month was fairly quiet. We spent lots of time just hanging out and spending lots of time outside. The Hay Day festival in our little town was a lot of fun too.

July: I got my bake on! A lot! I am loving having a big kitchen again.

August: Hot hot hot!! We went on a float trip in Missouri. Float trips are so much fun. We camped in my parent's Winnebago. That's the only kind of camping you'll ever see me do. Tents are not my friend.  I learned that at Cornerstone in 2009.

September: We celebrated 3 years of marriage and 7 years of being together. This guy is my favorite.

September: Meet Keilana Mae, our beautiful little niece. She was born this month. She's precious.

October: I got to watch one of my best friends get married. I am so glad that I got to be a part of her special day.

November: I got to watch my other best friend get married. Again, being a part of her special day is one of the most special moments in my life.

December: This past month was so great. We got to celebrate one of our favorite holidays and spend lots of time with friends and family. We also made some new traditions like our Advent Calendar and Christmas day photoshoots!

2011 was a wonderful year for me. I can't wait to see was 2012 has in store.
How was your 2011?
